Under Armour Honors Heroes and Sees Double-Digit Affiliate Revenue Growth

Under Armour, the athletic apparel and footwear brand, needed a reliable way to honor its longstanding 10% military discount online by verifying customers’ service status. In November 2012 Under Armour partnered with ID.me, using ID.me’s verification technology to authenticate military personnel (and later first responders and family members) so the discount could be applied at checkout.

ID.me implemented its Community Verification platform at UnderArmour.com, letting verified users receive a 10% discount when they sign in with ID.me credentials. The program produced measurable gains: over 30% revenue growth for Under Armour’s Community program in a three-month before/after comparison, 70% of ID.me checkout users were first-time customers, and the initiative generated positive social buzz for the brand.
