British Bakeries, the bread-producing division of Premier Foods, runs a high-volume, high-pressure operation — supplying around a third of the UK’s daily bread (over 2 million loaves a day) with some 6,500 employees and hundreds of product variants. The company needed a consistent, site-wide way to measure performance and drive continuous improvement so it could eliminate hidden losses, raise productivity and improve skills and industrial relations across its multiple bakery sites.
