Boom Supersonic unveils Overture with IDEO, cutting New York to Frankfurt to just over 4 hours

The customer, Boom Supersonic, faced the challenge of defining and prototyping a completely new passenger experience for its Overture supersonic jet. To bring this vision to life and make key decisions about the aircraft's interior design, Boom partnered with the vendor IDEO.

IDEO implemented a "build-first" solution, constructing a full-scale mockup of the fuselage to prototype and test cabin configurations. This allowed Boom to experience the design firsthand and gather feedback from future travelers, which was then refined into an immersive exhibit for a major airshow. As a result of this collaboration, Boom confidently finalized its production design, formed key supplier alliances, and secured its largest order to date from American Airlines.
