Town of Mooresville - Customer Case Study

The Town of Mooresville, a North Carolina municipality serving about 38,000 residents with roughly 475 employees, needed to expand and modernize its multi-factor authentication while remaining CJIS and PCI DSS compliant. Their existing MFA—used for 90 police officers—required multiple logins, lacked flexibility, and couldn’t integrate with the town’s RFID proximity badges, so they turned to Identity Automation and its RapidIdentity MFA.

Identity Automation implemented RapidIdentity MFA with 14 authentication methods, including hard and soft OTPs, Push Authentication (PingMe), and integration of existing RFID badges to unlock Windows devices. The deployment kept the town CJIS and PCI compliant, improved employee experience and efficiency by letting staff swipe badges or use tokens/push as appropriate, and delivered measurable savings—an estimated 26 hours per day saved across users with an average of 10 logins per user per day.
