Owensboro Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Owensboro Public Schools, serving roughly 5,000 students and 400 staff in Kentucky, faced a fragile, fully manual IAM environment—months-long account provisioning, frequent classroom disruptions for password resets, and an unsustainable homegrown script solution that only two staff maintained. Seeking a scalable, state-compliant platform, Owensboro selected Identity Automation and its RapidIdentity suite (Lifecycle and Authentication) to replace the ad-hoc processes.

Identity Automation implemented RapidIdentity Lifecycle for automated identity management and self-service password resets, plus RapidIdentity Authentication for broader SSO coverage (with plans for RapidIdentity Rostering). The rollout delivered zero-day access for new hires, cut onboarding from months to about two hours for most services, reduced help-desk calls and classroom interruptions, ensured compliance with Kentucky’s AD requirements, and shifted maintenance off the district’s IT team while providing strong vendor support.
