Escondido Union School District - Customer Case Study

Escondido Union School District, a K-8 district in Escondido, California, needed a better way to manage digital identities for more than 14,500 students and nearly 2,500 staff. With Identity Automation, the district was still relying on manual, script-heavy account creation tied to its HR system, which led to errors, inefficiencies, and extra work whenever HR added or changed users. The district also wanted stronger compliance, automated provisioning, and role-based access.

Identity Automation implemented RapidIdentity Lifecycle Management to automate user provisioning, grouping, and entitlements across multiple data sources. The district went live in about six weeks and now syncs HR changes hourly, eliminating manual steps for IT. Results included zero help tickets in the first three weeks of the 2023-2024 school year, improved security through one-time code account claims, and faster, more flexible workflows for HR and IT.
