A Identity Automation Case Study
Duquesne University, a private Catholic university supporting over 2,630 employees and 9,260 students, faced complex identity and access management challenges from overlapping user groups, temporary external accounts, and fragile custom scripts maintained by a single administrator. Seeking a modern, flexible replacement for an end-of-life system, Duquesne selected Identity Automation’s RapidIdentity platform to better automate and govern access without vendor lock-in.
Working with Moran Technology Consulting, Identity Automation implemented RapidIdentity for identity lifecycle management, governance, authentication, and password management, creating documented action sets and workflows. The solution merged multiple affiliations into single identities, delegated provisioning (eliminating IT bottlenecks for work‑study access), and replaced manual scripts with automated processes so multiple staff can support the system—resulting in faster provisioning/deprovisioning, improved security and scalability, reduced IT effort, and a higher ROI for Duquesne.
