Cypress Fairbanks School District Uses Identity Automation to Connect Students, Parents, Faculty, and Staff

Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District faced a growing challenge: as online classes, grade access, and parent portals multiplied, the district struggled with separate user credentials, manual provisioning, and a heavier help-desk burden for hundreds of thousands of users. To unify access and secure web-based services, Cypress-Fairbanks engaged Identity Automation and its Identity Management solution to design a scalable portal and identity infrastructure.

Identity Automation implemented a private cloud education portal and identity-management backbone—linking HRMS and the SIS, enabling single sign-on, self-registration, automatic provisioning, and security-question password resets. The solution uses firewalls and 128bit SSL, quarantines network access, and scales to support up to 100,000 concurrent connections for a community of over 115,000 students, faculty, and staff plus as many as 250,000 parent users. The result: streamlined administration, reduced help-desk load, secure centralized access to grades and services, and cost savings from digital reporting and reduced paper/mailing.
