Clayton County Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Clayton County Public Schools, the fifth-largest school system in Georgia with 54,000 students across 68 schools, needed to rapidly create and manage digital accounts to expand access to online learning and reduce IT workload. Chief Technology Officer Rod Smith selected Identity Automation’s RapidIdentity platform after evaluating peer success, seeking a proven, automated identity and access management solution with professional support.

Identity Automation implemented RapidIdentity services—including single sign-on (SSO), identity lifecycle management (ILM), and multi‑factor authentication (MFA)—to onboard and secure the district’s 54,000 users. The platform now hosts 24 portal applications (18 SSO‑enabled), enables self‑service password management, ensured secure Zoom access during COVID, and supported a 1:1 device rollout of 38,000 Chromebooks, significantly reducing help‑desk effort and improving districtwide access and security.
