Austin ISD serves 74,000 students anywhere with Identity Automation

Austin Independent School District (AISD), the fifth-largest public school district in Texas, needed an Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution to unify its digital ecosystem, enable secure access from anywhere, and avoid costly custom development. Their challenge was to connect various systems and provide simple, secure logins for over 100,000 students, teachers, and staff while adhering to a cloud-first, commercial-off-the-shelf strategy.

The district partnered with Identity Automation and implemented its RapidIdentity platform, specifically using RapidIdentity Lifecycle, Authentication, and Workflow. The configured solution provided a user-friendly single sign-on and multi-factor authentication system, reduced IT workload, and cut learning loss by letting teachers reset passwords instantly. Identity Automation's cloud-based platform also enhanced security with a zero-trust model and eliminated downtime during weather emergencies, freeing the IT team from on-call duties.
