A Identity Automation Case Study
Austin ISD, the fifth-largest school district in Texas serving over 74,000 students across 125 locations, needed an identity and access management solution that would unify its SIS, ERP, curriculum tools and eBooks, enable secure cloud-first access from anywhere, simplify authentication for students and staff, and be a commercial-off-the-shelf option that didn’t require custom development. Austin ISD selected Identity Automation’s RapidIdentity platform to meet those requirements.
Identity Automation implemented RapidIdentity Cloud (RapidIdentity Lifecycle, Authentication and Governance) to automate user lifecycles, provide SSO and flexible MFA, and enforce policy-driven access controls. The result was a unified, identity-centric ecosystem that lets students and teachers access classroom tools from any WiFi network, enables teachers to reset passwords in class rather than waiting roughly 30 minutes for IT, improves security through a zero-trust model, and offloads uptime and incident management to the cloud—freeing Austin ISD’s IT team from on-call pagers and reducing operational overhead.
