Manheim Central School District turned to identiMetrics after facing ongoing issues with student meal account security. Students were sharing and losing cafeteria cards, creating account problems for parents and wasting time for staff, principals, and the food service director. The district needed a more secure, reliable way to identify students and protect prepaid accounts.
identiMetrics implemented a fingerprint-based biometric ID system that integrated with the district’s existing cafeteria point-of-sale application, and the same biometric database was later used in the media center. The rollout included parent communication, student enrollment at open house, and strong district-wide support. As a result, the district eliminated parent calls about account problems and saw broad student adoption, with many initially opted-out students later requesting enrollment.
