Case Study: Pitt Ohio achieves major safety and retention gains with Idelic Safety Suite

A Idelic Case Study

Preview of the Pitt Ohio Case Study

Reducing Accidents with Predictive Analytics

Pitt Ohio, a leading LTL fleet based in Pittsburgh, wanted a better way to evaluate more than 3,000 drivers and predict which were most at risk for accidents or incidents. After a serious accident, the company saw that critical risk data was spread across siloed systems, making it difficult to identify warning signs early. Idelic helped Pitt Ohio address this challenge with its Safety Suite, a data aggregation and predictive analytics platform.

Idelic’s platform combined internal and external driver data into a single source of truth, giving Pitt Ohio a 360-degree view of driver behavior and enabling proactive coaching and corrective training. The results were significant after one year: claims fell 48%, insurance premiums dropped 55%, driver turnover improved 43%, and administrative time was reduced 22%. Pitt Ohio also reported major cost savings from fewer accidents, lower claims, and reduced rehiring and training expenses.
