Pharmacy Chain Uses Empowerment of Middle Management and Prize Awarding to Collect 131 Ideas

SuperPharm, a subsidiary of Agostini’s Group and the leading retail pharmacy chain in Trinidad, needed a way to launch bottom-up innovation across geographically dispersed teams. Agostini’s sought a partner to provide an easy-to-use platform plus best-practice guidance; they selected Ideawake to run a time-based employee challenge that would let staff submit, collaborate on, and surface practical ideas.

Using Ideawake, the Agostini’s Innovation Lab ran a single challenge for 328 SuperPharm users that combined tagging, real-time chat, crowd voting, scorecards, notifications, gamification and prize awards (including manager-driven incentives like free coffee). The campaign generated 131 ideas, 736 comments and 2,576 votes, with idea categories spanning process improvement (32.3%), collaboration (31.3%) and revenue generation (29.3%), demonstrating strong engagement and a measurable pipeline of implementable ideas.
