Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, one of the largest ski resorts in the United States with 2,600 employees, needed a better way to create a continuous dialogue with full- and part-time staff to surface ideas for safety and guest experience. They sought a mobile-accessible solution to capture, surface, incentivize and recognize employee contributions and engaged Ideawake to provide an idea-management platform and supporting process.

Ideawake launched the platform in December 2017, ran seven focused challenges, worked with SVAM’s innovation team on communications and governance, and provided onsite support to optimize adoption. Between December 2017 and April 2018 the program generated 226 ideas (15 implemented), 341 comments and 654 votes, and achieved a 74% increase in the employee innovation and learning score (moving SVAM up two quadrants on the McKinsey Organizational Health Index). Ideawake’s platform measurably increased engagement and delivered actionable improvements for the resort.
