Engaging front-line employees to submit, select, and pilot innovative ideas to foster a more patient-centric culture

ProHealth Care, a 4,500-employee health system in the Greater Waukesha area, wanted to become more patient-centric by tapping front-line staff for ideas but found its existing idea-collection and implementation methods lacked efficiency and transparency. To launch its InOv8 corporate innovation program and engage employees at scale, ProHealth Care partnered with Ideawake and adopted Ideawake’s platform and Ideabox Accelerator Program to structure, promote, and manage idea submission and piloting.

Ideawake’s solution combined an easy-to-use platform (smart tagging, anonymous posting, crowd voting, scorecarding, chat, and workflow stages) with a 10-week Accelerator to validate, prototype, and pilot ideas. The campaign yielded 388 ideas, 744 comments, 5,843 votes, and a 42% engagement rate; eight ideas entered rapid testing, eight teams completed the program, and four ideas moved to incubation. Ideawake’s program also produced strong participant feedback (50% “strongly agree” they felt supported) and led ProHealth Care to plan an expansion of InOv8.
