Case Study: NBBJ improves BIM data management with Ideate Software

NBBJ, the Seattle-based design firm, needed a faster, more reliable way to manage complex BIM data in Autodesk Revit, including sequentially labeling and scheduling 9,000 curtain panels and handling model elements that Revit does not easily expose. To solve these challenges, NBBJ used Ideate Software tools, especially Ideate BIMLink and Ideate Explorer for Revit, to improve information flow, collaboration, and model management.

With Ideate Software, NBBJ was able to push critical panel data into Revit through Microsoft Excel, including host wall direction, type, unique ID, and base constraint information that Revit could not schedule or tag directly. Ideate Explorer for Revit also helped the team create selection sets, find CAD imports, and manage room separation lines, saving significant time and making model auditing and maintenance much easier; Richard Sachs said he would not be able to do his job as project BIM lead without these tools.
