Ideate BIMLink Manages Seen and Unseen Data for HDR Wayfinding/Signage

HDR’s Wayfinding/Signage studio faced a common BIM challenge: it needed to manage large amounts of signage and navigation data that were partly created by team members who do not use Revit, while still keeping that information accurate, current, and accessible in the model. Working with Ideate Software and using Ideate BIMLink with Autodesk Revit Architecture and Microsoft Excel, the team looked for a better way to move data between Excel and Revit without consuming valuable Revit-user time.

Ideate Software’s Ideate BIMLink let HDR’s planners review and update wayfinding message data in Excel, then push the verified information back into Revit for final message schedules. This improved collaboration between Revit and non-Revit users and reduced data management effort significantly: Rick Sorensen said a task that used to take three days could now be completed in one-half to one-third the time, saving both time and project costs.
