Rhode Island Land Trust Council - Customer Case Study

Rhode Island Land Trust Council, a statewide coalition of land trusts, needed a way to replace disconnected Excel, paper, and Microsoft Access processes with a cloud-based system that could help independent land trusts share up-to-date information and coordinate their conservation work. To support that mission, the council worked with Idealist consulting to build a custom Salesforce application, the Land Trust Tracker, for managing land projects, volunteers, and stewardship records.

Idealist consulting implemented an unpublished, unmanaged, native Salesforce app that standardized land tracking, streamlined data entry, and linked documents and spreadsheets so users could access records from anywhere. The Land Trust Tracker was delivered to more than 30 land trusts at launch and later adopted by many more, helping participants cut CRM adoption costs by over 50% and significantly improve business process standardization.
