Children’s Institute, a children’s advocacy organization focused on improving Oregon’s early learning system, needed a better way to communicate with supporters and track relationships across education, civic, and policy networks. After struggling with Blackbaud’s Luminate CRM, the organization turned to Idealist Consulting and Salesforce to solve its constituent communication and fundraising challenges.

Idealist Consulting migrated 6,000 records from Luminate to Salesforce and added and integrated Soapbox Mailer, CQ Roll Call, and Click and Pledge for email, advocacy, events, and donations. The new setup improved list segmentation and targeted outreach, while also helping Children’s Institute cut operating system costs by about 30%, allowing the team to spend more time on strategy and less on technology issues.
