Case Study: Indigo achieves reliable classroom internet access with IDE Group

Indigo use IDE Group colocation & connectivity to free school from old legacy grid to safe and reliable ‘Secure Connect’ managed service

Queen Elizabeth’s School, which serves approximately 1,500 pupils in Wimborne Minster and the surrounding area, needed a more consistent and reliable internet connection for classroom learning and for pupils studying at home. Its legacy grid for learning was proving frustrating because resources could be available one day and unavailable the next, creating pressure for teaching staff and affecting attention and learning. The school worked with IDE Group and selected Indigo’s Secure Connect.

IDE Group provided a solution through Indigo that included a 100 Mbps fibre leased line, colocation and server hosting, managed firewalls, internet transit, domain and DNS hosting, firewall management, and network consultancy. The school also moved Lync, Exchange and Citrix services to the new connection. The result was safe, secure and reliable access to resources, allowing staff to deliver lessons to plan and support an online community that improved participation and results.
