7digital, a global digital music company based in London, needed reliable music streaming uptime and secure protection for its catalogue. As it hosted and distributed 32 million tracks globally, it also needed fast connections and a safe place to store sensitive music data. IDE Group started with a single rack of colocation in 2006 and later expanded 7digital to several racks across multiple data centre sites. The setup gave 7digital always-on, redundant infrastructure, stronger disaster recovery, simpler supplier management and billing, and the ability to scale as it grew. 7digital said IDE Group helped it receive up to 250,000 tracks in one week and later upgrade its catalogue to hi-res audio.
