Case Study: Garrison demonstrates secure web browsing with RAVI robot by ID&C

Garrison develops a web-browsing robot in 7 months with ID&C

ID&C was approached by Garrison, an internet security company, which required a humanoid robot to visually demonstrate its Silicon Assured Video Isolation (SAVI®) technology. The challenge was to create a novel demo machine named RAVI that could type like a human, mimicking a user's keyboard actions at a speed of 3-4 keys per second to showcase how Garrison's product safely browses the web on a user's behalf.

ID&C developed RAVI, a robot with human-like hands and precise mobility achieved through an innovative configuration of off-the-shelf components and custom machined aluminium and SLA-printed parts. The solution included multiple safety systems and was fine-tuned to achieve the exact typing speed required. ID&C completed the entire project, from design to production, in just seven months. The feedback was so positive that Garrison commissioned a second robot project.
