Case Study: British Cycling achieves lightweight, high-protection helmet liners with ID&C

British Cycling’s 40 helmet liners built with ID&C

British Cycling required helmet liners for its Olympic team that provided optimum safety protection while also being extremely lightweight and streamlined for competitive speed. Industrial Design Consultancy Ltd (ID&C) was selected to develop this core safety component using their prototyping expertise.

ID&C manufactured the liners on-site from impact-absorbing Styrofoam, machining them with a high-tech CNC milling machine to produce forty units. The vendor's solution was successfully implemented for the team at both the Beijing and London Olympics, with the British team achieving gold medals on both occasions.
