Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP served as defense counsel in a construction contract dispute and needed the client’s team and outside experts to review documents while protecting attorney work product and comments. To address this, the firm used iCONECT’s Custom Views to create controlled access for different reviewer groups.
Using iCONECT, the litigation support team built a Client-Expert Docs view that only allowed non‑privileged documents (auto‑removing any later tagged privileged items) into the shared folder; experts were limited to 7,800 non‑privileged documents with no attorney comments, client reviewers accessed 66,000 non‑privileged documents plus expert comments, and attorneys retained full access. The iCONECT solution enabled real‑time collaboration and faster, more efficient review workflows across attorneys, clients, and experts.
