Avansic was assisting the plaintiffs in a class action and faced the challenge of finding "hot" documents within a produced set of three million documents with less than one month to complete the review. Avansic partnered with iCONECT and leveraged iCONECT-XERA’s analytics and predictive coding capabilities to tackle the tight timeframe.

iCONECT implemented a workflow of near-duplicate removal, clustering, distributed sampling, predictive coding, continuous learning and visualization, and used 50 contract reviewers whose overnight coding trained the iCONECT-XERA engine and fed “more like this” searches. In two weeks the team surfaced enough hot documents from 3 million to prompt settlement talks—a measurable result delivered with 50 reviewers over two weeks that led to an out-of-court settlement favorable to the plaintiffs.
