Sciences Po, a research and education institution in France, used the Nagios monitoring solution for a decade but sought a better-suited platform. They turned to the vendor Icinga to meet their needs for monitoring, alerting, and performance measurement.

The solution implemented was the Icinga product, which provided improved features for its environment, including a better life cycle, reporting, and community support. Icinga now successfully monitors the institution's entire infrastructure of 605 hosts and 4000 services from a single Icinga2 instance.
