SAS Automotive - Customer Case Study

The customer, SAS Automotive, faced the challenge of monitoring its large, decentralized global infrastructure. After five years of using Nagios, they needed a more suitable monitoring solution with a better life cycle, reporting, and community support, leading them to choose the vendor Icinga.

The solution implemented by Icinga involved a centralized, distributed setup where 24 monitoring instances, each overseeing a local site, report back to a central instance. The entire infrastructure, monitoring 6,000 hosts and 60,000 services, is managed and deployed automatically using Puppet. This new Icinga implementation provided a more effective and scalable framework for their global operations.
