The German drugstore chain Müller faced the challenge of monitoring the heterogeneous IT equipment across its 900+ European stores to ensure perfect availability for customers. Before using Icinga, their monitoring was inefficient and fragile, relying on a single main PC in each store, which, if it broke, would break the entire store's monitoring history. They selected the Icinga monitoring platform to gain better control and assist their user helpdesk.

Müller implemented Icinga 2, utilizing its master-satellite agent structure to create a scalable and redundant setup. This allowed them to monitor approximately 14,000 systems, including point-of-sale terminals, and empowered their helpdesk to quickly identify and resolve issues for store employees. The solution from Icinga transformed their monitoring, resulting in efficient work, less maintenance, and a future-proof system that will support the company's continued expansion.
