The customer, ITAF, faced performance limitations with their previous Nagios monitoring setup due to significant infrastructure growth. This challenge required them to find a new solution that was both easy to migrate to and could efficiently distribute workloads. They chose Icinga to address these specific needs.

Implementing Icinga with a main instance and five worker servers using mod_gearman completely resolved the performance issues. ITAF now uses Icinga to monitor 1,800 hosts and 16,000 services in real-time across its data centers and remote customer locations. The staff appreciates Icinga's active community, wide scope of available scripts, and the platform's continuous development.
