The customer, Deutsche Telekom IT, faced the challenge of ensuring connectivity and high availability for its massive global network, which supports over 226,000 employees. Their previous monitoring tool was inflexible, expensive, and offered poor support, which hindered their ability to react quickly to issues and threatened the productivity of the entire company.
Icinga provided the solution, implemented with support partner NETWAYS, by deploying a highly available, active-active cluster to monitor 16,000 hosts and 95,000 services. The solution’s flexibility, powerful automation via Apply Rules, and open interfaces allowed for deep integration with internal tools and custom extensions. This enabled Deutsche Telekom IT to significantly shorten incident detection and resolution times, reduce outages, and empower its internal teams, ensuring network stability.
