VanDyk Mortgage Corporation, a Grand Rapids–based direct lender with 80 locations in 39 states and $1.4B in annual loan volume, needed more accurate, reliable pricing and greater efficiency. Their previous pricing vendor produced occasional errors (about 1 in 1,000 scenarios), which—given VanDyk’s volume of roughly 7,500 loans a year—created costly operational and customer-service problems.
In 2012 VanDyk adopted Encompass Product & Pricing Service, tightly integrated with Encompass and AllRegs, which reduced LO inputs to six fields, centralized compliance checks, and became the company’s primary lock desk. The change eliminated pricing errors, saving roughly $4,000 per month, cut about two minutes per scenario across originators and lock desk operations, and improved responsiveness and overall customer service.
