Indiana Members Credit Union closes 20 percent more loans in 30 days with Encompass

Indiana Members Credit Union (Indianapolis), which originated roughly $414M in mortgage loans in 2020, needed a more flexible, configurable loan origination system to support its credit-union–specific workflows, enforce compliance (especially after TRID), and add rules to improve loan quality and speed processing. The prior platform was too rigid to adapt or prompt quality controls, so IMCU set out to find a solution that could grow with its processes.

After staff input and vendor evaluations, IMCU implemented Encompass by ICE Mortgage Technology, gaining configurable workflows, rule-based quality controls, stronger compliance management, third-party integrations, and administrator training. The change improved compliance and pipeline visibility, enhanced member and user experience (eSigning and automated updates), raised loan quality, and sped clear-to-close times—boosting loans closed within 30 days from about 60% to 75–80%—allowing the credit union to handle nearly double the 2020 volume (~2,100 loans) without adding staff.
