Academy Mortgage, a 35‑year‑old, Salt Lake City–based lender licensed in 48 states and originating $8.6 billion in loans, faced the need for a scalable, customizable all‑in‑one mortgage system to support 2,500 users across the country on an aggressive timeline while also meeting new Know Before You Owe requirements.

Academy adopted Ellie Mae’s Encompass, went paperless, and automated its workflows—customizing the platform to preserve preferred processes. After starting design in July 2015, a live pilot began in about 3.5 months and the full 2,500‑user rollout was completed by March 2016. The implementation delivered faster turn times, improved loan quality, integrated pipeline management, a better borrower experience, and strong compliance support from Ellie Mae.
