Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), a research-driven technical university with over 7,500 students and about 3,000 employees managing more than 1,200 research projects, needed better control of project revenue and reporting. The university engaged icCube for a BI and dashboard solution to streamline project reporting, create a single unified reporting approach, involve non-financial staff at faculties and labs, publish dashboards to iPads, and integrate with enterprise systems.

icCube, together with partner InsideVision, implemented a flexible BI/dashboard platform using a Scrum-like development approach with daily releases, tight integration to Oracle EBS, and on-the-fly authentication/authorization supporting cell-level access rights. The result is one uniform reporting platform accessible by browser and iPad that makes it clear which projects are on track, simplifies monitoring for board members and project controllers, and significantly reduced maintenance effort—“costs me almost no time at all,” according to TU/e staff.
