Siemens AG secures 350,000 daily users with iC Consult

Siemens AG, a global industrial technology company with over 320,000 employees, faced the challenge of replacing its outdated, company-wide authentication system. Their legacy system, in use for over 15 years, could no longer meet the high modern demands for availability, flexibility, and security. Siemens commissioned the vendor iC Consult to implement a new, future-proof Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution that could support its changed corporate structure and provide innovative authentication methods.

iC Consult implemented a hybrid cloud IAM solution named MyID using their Service Layers platform and Ping Identity products. The solution, hosted on AWS, provided a highly automated and secure system with global deployment for high availability. The results included a seamless migration for over 1,000 applications, highly available and rapid login processes for over 350,000 daily users, and support for modern multi-factor authentication. iC Consult's solution enabled a very fast implementation, boosting security and operational efficiency for Siemens.
