How Boston Public Schools uses the iboss cloud to provide secure Internet access to their students and staff

Boston Public Schools (BPS) serves more than 54,000 students across 125 schools with learners from 139 countries, many of whom are economically disadvantaged or require accommodations. Faced with diverse devices (iPads, Chromebooks, MacBooks, Windows laptops), multilingual needs, and the requirement to remain CIPA-compliant to preserve federal funding, BPS partnered with iboss and deployed the iboss cloud to provide a scalable, device-agnostic security solution.

iboss implemented SSL decryption, granular policy groups, device/OS access controls, custom block pages, and Data Loss Prevention to increase visibility and enforce consistent security policies onsite and offsite. The iboss cloud delivered detailed reporting and real-time dashboards that simplify CIPA auditing and help protect 54,000+ students across 125 schools, reduce successful filter circumvention by tech-savvy users, and enable administrators to respond to incidents quickly while focusing on district innovation.
