DATAMARK, a leading BPO provider, needed to replace aging legacy scanners in a high-volume mailroom operation for a large financial services client. The company was challenged by technical issues, uncertain long-term support, and the need to handle 3 million to 4 million paper documents per month with fast, reliable image and data capture. ibml and its ImageTrac 6400 solution, along with Capture Suite software, were evaluated to meet these requirements.

ibml implemented the ImageTrac 6400 in July 2015, and DATAMARK migrated all work by early September with a smooth rollout. The solution reduced labor by more than 50%—from 18 FTEs to 8—improved throughput, enabled 300 dpi scanning without sacrificing speed, doubled barcode recognition, and allowed reuse of 50,000 to 100,000 patch codes each month. DATAMARK expects payback within 18 months, six months ahead of plan, and plans to buy another ibml system.
