A IBM Case Study
Yamato Financial Co., Ltd., a payment service provider within the Yamato Group, faced a significant challenge in sharing business know-how and improving communication across its 70 widely dispersed offices in Japan. This lack of a reliable information-sharing method meant valuable insights from sales and operational staff remained isolated, hindering the company's ability to raise its overall skill level and responsiveness. To address this, they turned to vendor IBM to implement a solution based on the IBM Connections platform.
IBM implemented an in-house social networking service named "Chietter," built on IBM Connections and hosted on IBM Cloud Infrastructure Services. The solution was customized for ease of use and promoted through executive leadership and a reward system to encourage company-wide adoption. The results were highly successful, achieving a 99% usage rate among its 400 employees. This led to faster business reactions, widespread sharing of success stories and solutions to problems, and transformed individual knowledge into shared company-wide intellectual property, directly contributing to improved business achievements.
