Washing Away The Competition By Cutting Time-To-Market By Up To 30 Percent

Fagor Industrial, a global manufacturer of industrial cooking and cleaning equipment, needed to launch a first-of-its-kind touchscreen washer extractor quickly to capture a narrow window for first-mover advantage. To accelerate design, testing and embedded development, Fagor deployed IBM technology—specifically IBM Watson IoT and IBM Rational solutions—and worked with IBM Business Partner ULMA Embedded to implement the solution.

Using IBM Rational Rhapsody and IBM Watson IoT, ULMA Embedded simulated hardware, automated embedded-process updates and reduced the need for physical prototypes, allowing rapid iteration. Enabled by IBM technology, Fagor cut time-to-market by up to 30%, accelerated embedded-system development by about 25%, lowered prototyping time and costs, and experienced fewer post-launch service issues.
