VLI moves cargo faster and safer with IBM Security™ solutions

VLI, Brazil’s leading rail-based logistics operator, needed a better way to manage access, compliance, and security across its massive rail, port, and terminal network. With thousands of employees and contractors and strict government regulations to meet, manual identity and access processes were slowing operations and leaving the company exposed to risk. VLI turned to IBM Security solutions to modernize identity and access management.

IBM implemented a phased rollout of IBM Security Verify Governance, IBM Security Verify Privilege Vault, IBM Security Verify Privilege Manager, IBM Security Verify Access, and IBM Security Directory Suite, with support from IBM Business Partner Qriar. The result was a 99% faster access request process, cutting response time from five days to seconds, while also improving auditing, reducing privileged access risk, and helping minimize malware and ransomware threats. VLI also reported higher productivity and achieved its highest cargo movement volume in April 2020.
