A IBM Case Study
Westpac New Zealand Ltd., a major banking provider in New Zealand, needed to build a centralized process library as part of a broader business process management initiative. Its old documentation approach, based on Microsoft Visio and other tools, was cumbersome, led to duplicated effort, and made it hard for teams to find and reuse process information.
IBM implemented IBM Blueworks Live, a cloud-based business process management application, to help Westpac document and store processes in one place. In just three months, Westpac created more than 2,000 reusable process artifacts, up from roughly 900–1,000 over two years in its old library, improving reuse, collaboration, and visibility across teams and helping the bank optimize processes and customer service.
