Case Study: McDonald’s improves hiring efficiency and candidate fit with IBM assessments

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the McDonald’s Case Study

Using assessments to improve the customer experience and drive better business results

McDonald's UK faced a challenge in efficiently managing its high volume of job applicants to find candidates who were the right fit for its customer-centric environment. To enhance its selection process and reduce the time spent on unsuitable applicants, the company partnered with vendor IBM and leveraged its IBM Kenexa Behavioral Assessments on Cloud.

IBM implemented a solution featuring a Realistic Job Preview and Situational Judgment & Dependability tests integrated into the online recruitment system. This approach allowed candidates to self-assess their fit for the role, leading to a significant drop in applicant numbers. The results were substantial: applicant numbers for crew and management positions dropped by 35% and 50% respectively, time to hire for management was cut by 25%, and the application-to-hire ratio was slashed by nearly 66%, resulting in major efficiency gains for McDonald's.
