UMB AG, a Swiss IT services provider and IBM Business Partner, wanted to expand its UMB Cloud to support fast-growing SAP HANA and SAP S/4HANA workloads. The challenge was to deliver high-performance, highly reliable, and scalable services that could keep mission-critical customer systems running smoothly while improving cost efficiency, sustainability, and compliance.

IBM helped UMB AG build on IBM Power10 servers, IBM PowerVM, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications, with IBM Expert Care Services supporting further automation and standardization. As a result, UMB reported 60% faster SAP HANA restarts, 25% lower five-year TCO, easier vertical scaling to 3 TB and beyond without clusters, and better availability, energy efficiency, and customer service.
