A IBM Case Study
BBVA Francés, one of Argentina’s leading banks, needed to improve the performance of its core banking applications to support growing demand for digital services. Working with IBM, the bank sought a way to optimize decades-old COBOL code on its IBM Z platform without the time and cost of recompiling applications.
IBM implemented IBM Automatic Binary Optimizer for z/OS to help BBVA Francés exploit the new IBM z13 architecture and optimize high-CPU workloads. The result was strong measurable impact: the bank transformed 225 programs, cut CPU usage by 28% on average, and saved the equivalent of 26 CPU hours per month, helping deliver faster services and a better foundation for new digital banking offerings.
