A IBM Case Study
The University of Mainz Medical Center needed to move quickly during the COVID-19 pandemic without compromising patient privacy and data security. Working with IBM, it adopted an IBM hybrid cloud environment with IBM Cloud Satellite technology to support faster, more secure digital services for testing, vaccinations, communication, and research.
IBM implemented four applications in just four months: a patient chatbot, a COVID-19 testing and vaccination logistics solution, a secure mobile communication platform for healthcare workers, and a clinical research platform. Built with Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud, the solution enabled rapid deployment and portable, privacy-preserving workflows, with a team of 20 completing the work.
