A IBM Case Study
The University of Florida faced rising student attrition and needed a better way to use its growing student data to spot struggling students earlier and improve retention. To make analytics more accessible to faculty and administrators, the university turned to IBM and IBM Cognos Analytics, alongside IBM InfoSphere DataStage and IBM SPSS Modeler, to modernize its reporting and predictive capabilities.
IBM helped the University of Florida combine academic, demographic, and online learning data into intuitive dashboards and predictive models that identify at-risk students and enable earlier, more targeted interventions. The solution also supports more effective university-wide policies and personalized support, helping UF strengthen retention and graduation rates while supporting its position among the top 10 U.S. public schools.
