UMB AG, a leading Swiss IT services provider, wanted to help customers move to real-time analytics with SAP HANA without the cost and complexity of building and managing their own infrastructure. Working with IBM, UMB set out to create a secure, scalable cloud offering that would make SAP HANA easier to adopt for enterprises of all sizes.

IBM helped UMB build its managed SAP HANA cloud on IBM Power Systems, including Power S924 servers and PowerVM virtualization. The solution delivered seamless scaling, high availability, and disaster recovery across data centers, while reducing UMB’s training and operations effort by 50% and lowering five-year TCO by 25% versus other platforms. As a result, UMB strengthened its competitiveness and saw strong customer interest in the new service.
