The Co-operative Food enhances PCI DSS compliance

The Co-operative Food, part of The Co-operative Group and operating roughly 2,800 UK stores, faced an inconsistent, manual approach to patching tills and other endpoints that put PCI DSS compliance at risk. To centralise and streamline patch management across its large estate (approximately 19,000 devices), The Co-operative Food chose IBM and deployed the IBM BigFix solution.

IBM implemented BigFix agents and ran training, giving The Co-operative Food near‑real‑time automated patch discovery, deployment and integrated compliance reporting; the rollout now covers more than 18,500 endpoints. IBM’s BigFix has reduced manual auditing and management effort, improved endpoint visibility and control, and provides documented proof of patch status to help demonstrate PCI DSS compliance.
