The City of Atlanta takes charge of its assets to drive greater efficiency and customer satisfaction with IBM Maximo Application Suite

The City of Atlanta’s Department of Enterprise Assets Management needed to replace an antiquated asset management system so it could better handle maintenance requests, communicate with requestors, and support its goal of earning ISO 55001 certification. The department, working with IBM and IBM Maximo Application Suite, also wanted a more modern way to manage 51 city facilities and improve service for city workers and citizens.

IBM implemented IBM Maximo Application Suite as a cloud-based managed service on IBM Cloud, with predictive maintenance capabilities and support from IBM Expert Labs, IBM Customer Success, and IBM Business Partner Aquitas Solutions. The new system launched in March 2023 and gave users dashboards, work order tracking, performance metrics, and better data management. The measurable impact includes a new system covering 51 facilities and 2 million gross square feet, while laying the foundation for the City of Atlanta to become one of only three Atlanta-based entities with ISO 55001 certification.
